More Medicare/Tricare cuts

So, something else for us baby boomers to look forward to, less available health care.  You can’t blame doctors if they stop taking new Medicare patients, they can’t afford to take the hit they would take.

It is just sad that after all these years of hard work and paying into a system that was put in place to take care of seniors has turned into a financial nightmare.  Of course, if it was like it was in the good old days, our children would be taking care of us when we could no longer support ourselves.

WASHINGTON – Breast cancer surgeon Kathryn Wagner has posted a warning in her waiting room about a different sort of risk to patients’ health: She’ll stop taking new Medicare cases if Congress allows looming cuts in doctors’ pay to go through.

Making it even worse, is the fact that Tricare is tied into this entire mess…don’t know how that happened, but it will also mean that our military will not have proper medical and how many of them will find it hard to find a doctor?

Health care for military service members, families and retirees also would be jeopardized because Tricare payments are tied to Medicare’s.

My biggest argument against a National Healthcare system has been based on the fact that the government cannot even manage what they are already in charge of, how do they expect to control health care for an entire nation?  Yeah, I don’t see that happening.

It’s a bird! No, it’s a plane! No, it’s Superman!!

So, if they can’t confirm what it was, how can they say that it was no danger to national security?

“We are aware of the unexplained contrail reported off the coast of Southern California yesterday evening,” according to a statement from the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the U.S. Northern Command, which operates the U.S. and Canadian missile warning system. “At this time, we are unable to provide specific details but we are working to determine the exact nature of this event.”

“We can confirm that there is no indication of any threat to our nation and we will provide more information as it becomes available,” the statement said.

Healthcare for all!!!

Yeah, put me down as one of the 59 million.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Nearly 59 million Americans went without health insurance coverage for at least part of 2010, many of them with conditions or diseases that needed treatment, federal health officials said on Tuesday.

And it looks like I will be staying that way for a bit longer.  I had to drop my insurance last year because it was just too expensive and I couldn’t afford it.  When time for the company to renew the insurance came up this year, there was a 27% increase….no way I was going to afford it this year either.

There is plenty about the Healthcare Reform that I do not like, but one part that I believe is stupid as hell is the fact that insurance companies have to take on pre-existing conditions.  Insurance is a gamble for an insurance companies, they are gambling that you will not have any serious illnesses and will actually make money off of your premiums, just like car and home insurance.

Where do the politicians and the American people believe the lost income for the insurance companies is actually going to come from?  The insurance companies are just going to absorb the extra cost?  I think not.  You are going to have increases across the board and then you are going to have even more people that cannot afford health insurance.

So, moral of the story…I will pay more taxes, insurance will sky rocket even more and I will still not have any coverage.  Thank you Mr. Obama!  You are doing a really great job!!
